Question mound septic tank

We have a mound septic tank. I am looking for a diagram of this type of septic tank.How often do you have to clean it out.The installation was done in 2005 .We moved in November 2006.The system is a 7500 gal tank.We are 2 people living here.

Does your septic have a pump in it? Eatherway, it is a good idea to have it cleanedout every 5 to 7 years, depending on the water you use.

so what you have is a septic tank buried in the ground, then there is a pump in that tank that pumps the water from the tank out to the drain field (mound). the only time you will need to worry about it is when it starts to back up, and you will know when this happens. then someone will have to come change the pump, or pump out the goo, or both, and you'll be back in business. you probably wont have to worry about this for a long time with only two people. i wouldnt think too much about this. dont worry til it breaks. best thing to prolong the life of the system is not to flush what you shouldnt.

Thank You Wellwaterdude and Justwater,I feel a bit relieved,This is our first time with a septic system and we didn't know too much about them. Still would like to find a Diagram of what is under the earth.
