Well water tank will not fill
Hello, I am in desperate need of help from this forum. I think my well pump died and do not have the cash to fix it right now. I lost water pressure this morning and have since lost all water in the house. I have an alternate dug well and tried to bypass the well I have been using for years by using a submersible pump and hooking it directly to the water tank inside. I drained the tank and adjusted the air pressure to the desired pressure of 28. (System is 30/50). I am getting plenty of water pressure using the valve that drains the tank of water (don't know it's real name). The tank still will not fill with water. Please be patient. I am a single woman who is somewhat handy around the house but plumbing is new to me. I have been reading the forum and learned that I need to purchase a clip on ammeter to check on the old pump. I just need to get this thing working so I can get by for a few weeks to get the money together to have this repaired by a professional. By the way, the tank is a Harvard Wel-Flo. I believe it is about 10 years old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
