1/2 HP pump control to 1 HP

I just replaced my deep well pump with a 1 HP pump and my question is can I use the same control box, but swap out the 1/2 capacitor for a 1 HP capacitor. Will this work? I heard that there is no difference except for the capacitor, is this true?

Thank you

Yes you can do that. Just switch out the capacitor. The cap should be a 88-108 for the 1hp. As long as they are the same voltage. If it were the older type motor, you would need a different box.
