well pressure dropping fast

I've noticed my pressure switch gauge drops rapidly after the pump cycles. It builds pressure to 50psi,shuts off, and in a few seconds drops down to just about the cut in setting,25psi,but stays there for a few minutes before cycling again. I thought maybe the ckeckvalve, but it still does it after I close the ballvalve on the pump side. Air psi is good on my holding tanks. I still have water pressure but the pump is cycling more then normal. Any ideas on the problem? I might add that it drops down even with no water running.

Did you check all over the house for leaks? Is this an above ground well or submersible?

Haven't seen any leaks. submersible. If there was a leak I'd figure it would keep shutting on and off even if no water is running.

Read this thread, and I think you will find your answer.

I suspect your tank is waterlogged. That will cause short cycling.

Need to depressurize the tank, and vent it to fill it with air.

Not to worry - it happens all the time, even in the best of families
