multiple small quiet pumps carry water up hill?

I have a reservoir filled by a 12v dc pump for a homemade waterslide, but the pump is exceedingly loud. I wonder if I can move water up about a 25ft hill over 50 feet of tubing with multiple smaller quieter pumps. The flow rate is not a huge concern, because it would fill slowly during downtime and have a float switch to turn off.
Here is the current setup:
YouTube - Sewaslide 2010 (around 1:25 shows pump reservoir)

In general would this work?
Downsides besides cost?

This may not be cost effective since most small pumps only have about 5' lift, so I would need 5!
thanks for your thoughts.

Seems logical that it would work as what you are making is a simple multi stage pump. However, I am wondering if you might do better and save money by finding a used pool or spaa pump. I see those kinds of things on Craigs List around here. As a matter of fact I bought one to be used in my rain water catching project.

I'm assuming you have a DC piston or diaphragm pump which can be a bit noisy.

Do you have AC power available? You have a lot of options for AC pumps that can quietly deliver that head pressure in a single stage. If you must stay with DC I'd look at boat wash down pumps.

AC is possible, but not easy and would incur a cost on its own. The AC options seem to be far better though, yes. Maybe I should be thinking about using my old DC-AC inverter...which I think is limited to 4 watts...

4 watts might power a few lights but is not enough to lift a useful amount of water 25ft.
