Shallow well pump in a sump pump pit

I have access to insane amount of water out of my sump pump pit. My sump pump pit will fill with water even during dry times. Although it always seems to come to a certain level and stop during the dry periods.

We are also sitting at what I'm sure is the lowest point in the subdivision. I am trying to make the most out of a somewhat unfortunate situation.

My plan is to install a shallow well pump to use for irrigation into my sump pump pit. My sump pump pumps about 10 gallons a minute and can drop the level of the pit about a 18 inches in 4 hours or so. (Yes it goes for that long, sometimes up to 6 hours at a time.) This equals roughly 600 gallons an hour or over 2k gallons over a 4 hour time frame.

My question is (and keep in mind, I'm no plumber... not even close.) Can I set the foot valve at the bottom of my pit and not have the concern of sucking the pit dry in an hour or two of watering at a time.

Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks in advance folks.

Why dont you pound a mini casing down the pit. This way you will not get the sand/dirt in the ft valve.

It depend on how fast the water fills the pit. In dry times you may suck it dry. But if the table is at a better level 10 more ft down get hammer a 5 ft casing down. You probably have to force water down as you hammer to clear the dirt.
