low water pressure after electrical problem

Hello everyone, I did search to see if anyone has had this particular problem and could not find it in the forum.

I have underground power and lost 1 phase and had only 120 coming into the house. when this happened every thing 220 stopped working. To make a long story short the problem was in the ground before my meter close to the street, therefore duke energy's responsibility. The dug and fixed the electrical problem but ever since this my water pressure is extremly low dropping to almost 5 psi when I turn on the water.

My question is can this have been caused by the losing of 1 phase and have caused permanent damage to my water pump or pressure switch?

would I need to replace the pressure switch?

Do you think I can file a claim against Duke energy since it was their electrical problem that caused it, if in fact it did.

I had no problem with water pressure before this.

Thanks!

What kind of pump do you have? Is it a submersible or jet pump?
If its a jet pump, it may have lost its prime, and not pumping to its full potential.

Losing a power line and only getting 120 to the pump should not have hurt it.
I'm not saying it didn't, but it shouldn't have hurt the motor or switch.
You should call a well man out there and let them see what may have caused the problem.
