Inlet inspection port should just be top of sludge layer. May or may not see water enter the tank when fixture is used.

Outlet port should be all liquid and no solids. You should be able to see the liquid slowly exit out if you have bigger ports then standard pipe size.

If your having issues its always good to find the D-box to see how the laterals are draining.

Its good to have the tank emptied if having issues. From there you can dtermain somewhat where the problet may be.

No issues, just trying to educate

my tank has a big cover where I guess it gets pumped out at, and on the opposite side it has a smaller cover with a cap that I was guessing is the outlet inspection pipe...since all i see is water and looks like maybe a chamber of some sort.

and I know where a big pipe goes into the ditch (overflow pipe i believe).

Also, i have the septic systems with the air pump running 24/7 on it...just wondering why sometimes i can hear a slooshing around sound if i get close to the ground to listen. Only recently started to hear this sound.

and one more question, to pass code there was a pvc pipe also going up the side of my house, and after inspection the guy said he would cut it at ground level and cap it and it wouldnt make a difference since the house has vents already.Does this sound right?

Well you will have to be more specific now. Sounds like you may have a aerobic or pumped system, and not a normal anaerobic type septic.

Find a name on any controls. All systems are different but have the same concept. Post back. Take picks if you can.

I would not be cutting ant vents. Its there for a reason I am sure.
