septic aerator problrm

Red alarm light is on, aerator not running, stinky water, but pump for sprinkler works. what's up with this?

You might start by explaining what type of system you have.

Do you have two tanks? Often there is a pump in the second tank and the alarm indicates when the level in that tank is too high, often caused by a failed pump or float switch.

Smelly water and the spray pump is working, and the alarm is on.
There could be one of three things that causes that. The line from the aerator is stopped up or the aerator is bad, or the defusers in the tank are stopped up.
Check to see if the aerator is getting power if you have a muti-meter.
If you know who installed the system, give them a call and have them come check it out.
If you have a maintenance contract on the system, contact the them and see if they sell the aerator for your type system.
What brand system do you have?
