At out 2nd home we have a well (about 110 ft deep) and when we turn the water on the water pump turns on about every 20 seconds or so. The water surges slightly. We don't know if that indicates an issue with the pump itself or the bladder. It is coming onto winter so are hoping we can just leave it until warmer weather. Any insight would be appreciated. Our expansion tank is also buried.

In my basement, the washing machine drains into a sump pit and then a sump pump pumps the the water into out septic tank. Usually a large load of laundry would cause the sump pump to run 2-3 times for several seconds when it is draining. Starting this weekend, the sump pump started working in shorter bursts. it now runs 12-15 times for about second each. It is still working in that the the water is still being pumped out but I'm concerned that it is on its last legs or if not, it soon will be with the extra cycles that it is doing. The pump has an electronic sensor, not a float. The manual says that it should run at 8" until the level is down to 3.5". However, it looks like it is running at about 5" down to 2". A couple times, the water actually dropped below the pump's intake and caused a loud suction sound. Could the sensor being going bad? Any ideas or thinks to check?
