Frustrating well problems
I bought a house that was connected to rural water, but there was a well on the property with lines already leading to the house. I decided to hook the well back up to be able to run it to the water hydrants around the house...then i started running into problems. I hooked up a jet pump to the line in the basement and figured out that my check valve on the exsisting line running up from the well was bad so i kept losing prime, but i was able to pump up water.
Once i started pulling the old pipe out i realized it was in pretty bad shape and decided to start over and do it all with new materials. The well is 26 ft deep and I put in a new 21 ft pipe with a check valve on the bottom. And ended up buying a new 3/4 shallow well jet pump to put in the basement. After i had everything done i could not get the pump to pump any water. I've primed it multiple times and even unconnected the line running down the well and filled it with water. I feel like im doing everything right but nothing is seeming to work. I've made sure there are no leaks and no clogs in the line. Like I said the well pipe is 21 ft long and then runs close to 20 ft before it hits the basement and pump. THe only difference between the original and what i put in new was going from a 1 in. well pipe to an 1 1/4 in. pipe. It just doesnt make any sense to me since i was able to get water in the beginning, but with all new materials not able to pump a drop of water out of the well. Any advice would be greatly appreciated .

I put 1 1/4 in black hard plastic pipe. The kind that you can buy in rolls. I pulled the pipe that was in the well and filled it with water and it never did leak out. The pump is a Star ES07S 3/4 hp. I checked and what I called a check valve is a foot valve. After working on it it does seem like it is sucking air from somewhere but there are no leaks in any of the fittings or pipe. Would it make any difference that I went from a 1 in pipe to an 1 1/4 in pipe? That is the only thing that has changed. And i was wondering with a a pump that says it will onlu pump 25 ft if pumping vertically 20 ft and then 20 ft into the house if the pump would no have enough power to get the water up and get the pump primed.

Should pump about 12 gpm @15ft water level. 7 gpm @ 25ft
Either you have a suction leak, you pulled up some sediment and the jet is clogged, or you ran too long trying to prime and melted the impeller.
Thats all I can think of. If you have a solid piece of pipe is the well head under ground or do you have a pitless adapter?
