two pipe deep well jet pump troubles

I have a two inch drilled well jet pump system with a copper pipe within a copper pipe going down 70 feet or so. I believe the outside pipe is 1 1/2 inch and the inner pipe is 1 inch. On the inner pipe at the bottom, I have a foot valve at the bottom, and just above the foot valve there are two packer leathers just below the venturii. Everywhere in town says this system is obsolete and the repair shops say they cannot get these packer leathers. My pump is cycling every 17 minutes with no water usage and no leaks anywhere above ground. I have been able to purchase a foot valve. Does anyone know of any place that I could purchase these packer leathers? Thanks very much.

I just did a quick search and found some on Amazon. I'm not sure if they are the correct size or style though. It may even be cheaper for you to buy a valve locally and scavenge it for parts than to buy just a leather and pay shipping.

are you positive about the copper pipe inside a copper pipe?? i'm not talking about from the pump to the well head because you could have concentric piping from pump to well, ..i'm talking about whats inside the well.

leathers are typically used in 2" wells to seal off a "single pipe jet assembly" to the well casing so that the single pipe can act as the suction and the well casing itself can act as the drive pipe.

this is a standard single pipe jet assembly for a 2" well. i'm thinking you need 2"x1" leathers.. if in fact the leathers or foot valve is the problem. if its an old steel well, the casing could have a hole rusted and be the reason why losing pressure.

My leathers are somewhat shaped like a teacup without the handle. They have a one inch diameter hole in the bottom and are approximately 1 1/2 to 1 5/8 inch diameter at the widest polnt. I will check Amazon, thanks for that.
While I have read about wells that use the actual well wall as the casing, in this area we had diamond drilling rigs that used their equipment to drill the two inch hole through the bedrock and then install what appears to be a one inch copper pipe inside a 1 5/8 inch OD copper pipe attached at the top by a galvanized fitting screwed into a larger galvanized fitting.
I have actually just pulled the inside pipe up and put a new foot valve and put two new leathers that I had to cut to size to make them fit. It took me 20 minutes to get a prime by running another garden hose continuously into the pump, but now it appears to be working fine. My concern is that for how long will it operate until I have trouble again, so I would like to be ready with a set of the correct leathers.

Lots of places to get leathers, do a search for "pumps and tanks".
