Retreiving jet pump pipes from well. Really need help.
Hi everyone,
Greetings from Oz. I have a problem I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with. I have bought a home which is fitted with a Jet Pump comprimising of twin pvc pipes going down the well. The well I'm told is approx 90ft deep and the water level is approx 13ft.
The problem i have is that someone has stolen the jet pump and just cut the pipes off at the top and let them drop in the 4" pvc water pipe going down to the well.
They are 1" and 1 half " diameter pvc and I dont know how to retreive them so i can replace them.
I would be so grateful for any information you can pass to me so we can get water back on at the house.
Kind Regards
Steve

Just for a little clarification, the pipes have fallen several feet down in the casing?
One of the well pros will be along with specific advice.

Hey tow_guy, thanks so much. look forward to hearing from the well pro. Just clarifying, we think the water is about 13ft and thinking with the brass valve on the pipes they might be a bit further down. not too sure. I'm going to lower an LED flashlight down on a rope tomorrow to see if I can locate them.
RAAF Pearce is still around too. I used to live up that way and have freinds that still do. I've moved closer to the city these days on a half acre block. Just nice.
Thanks again mate.

So a 2pipe jet assembly (with the pipes) is at the bottom of the well.. no good. what material is the pipes? you can rig something up and try to pull it out, but u wouldn't be the first person with something broke in the bottom of their well if u can't get it. if there is enough water above the pipes you could just leave it all in there and install new..
whether u are gonna try to pull it out or leave it in, need to know water level and how far down to the pipes. just need some string with some kind of weight

So you have two 1-1/2" pipes in one 4" casing. No way you can leave them there. They just about fill the pipe. You definitely need to figure out the distance involved.
Flashlight may work and the idea of a string and weight isn't bad either.
Ultimately you could use climbing rock climbing cams to help retireve pipes.

More than likely its 1.25" and a 1" pipe as that's how most 2 pipe jets are tapped. .. and of course it will fill up the pipe, that's why there has to be enough water above the broke pipes to even consider leaving it in there. Water doesn't care, it will go around/through the broke stuff.
