Losing water several times a day
I am going to do my best to describe what is going on the best i can. We just moved into a house that has been vacant for about 7 years but was maintained well anyways before we moved in an artesian well was put in bascially because the water from the other well had a high iron content in it, so the well was put in but the water cuts off now a few times a day, we can't even do laundry because we have to go to the basement several times and reset the pump. Thinking it was the new well that was the problem the plumpers came back in and made it so that when the water goes out from the new well that we can switch over to the old well that worked for a few days but now we are back to the same problem. We have two pumps down in the basement for each well and one of them is a newly installed pump. I don't know what could be causing this problem. We checked the fuses and the fuse box and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong there but i don't understand why when it is 2 different wells with two different pumps why neither one will work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The second well was just installed ? The installing company should be able to iron out the problem. (no pun intended)

No..There is lots of water but the pump shuts off.The thing i find strange is two different wells with two different pump and no matter which one we switch to the same thing still happens.

Ok.....so you are telling us that both pumps electrically stop working. Are they on two different circuits from the panel or do they share a common circuit ? 120VAC or 240 VAC
If they share electrical supply or disconnects then that's the place to start. You will need to use a volt meter or contact voltage tester to see where the power is getting lost.

I am confused by the "there is lots of water but the pump shuts off" but I've gotta go with the direction PJmax is heading. It does not sound like a water or well problem and more like an electrical supply problem.
Can you provide a detailed description of your system and it's electrical supply?
