Dead pump
Alright the temp has been -10
I have no water
Crawled under the house to see what size pump I have and found out my heat tape is dead
So I have to assume my line is frozen and my pump deadheaded and burned up
I was told it might be the capacitor, but that doesn't make sense to with frozen lines
We have never had any issues with the system
It is 10 years old
A 1hp submersible flotech pump
6"casing 1 1/2 supply lines
I believe we set the pump around 50' hit water at 20' the well was producing 100+ GPm according to the company that sank the well
Sorry but I don't have time to test the control box as I have to go to the kids house so I can shower so I can go to work
So do u think I'm safe just buying a new pump when I get to town?
Thanks randy

Welcome to the forums.
I'm guessing you checked the circuit breaker feeding the pump.
I believe the Flotec pumps are self contained which means there is no control box or capacitor to check.
It's hard to tell what's happened with the pump. It could be cycling on thermal overload right now if still powered up. It could be fried. If it is powered right now... shut the power off.
Your next step is to get the lines unthawed to further testing.
