Well water color question?

Hello, just moved into a house with well water for the first time. When we tested the water during the home inspection it came back with bacteria present so the previous owner did a bleach shock and we retested and this time came back clear. It sat for a few weeks till closing day and when we did our final walkthrough we noticed the water was very rusty colored which I read was normal after shocking so went ahead and ran a hose outside for a few hours and it cleared it out but it did settle finally to a very light yellow tint it's only noticable in the toilets or if you fill a glass of water. If its just running you would never notice. I don't have a water filter or softener at all and I won't mind putting a filter in but def do not have a hardness problem so I don't want to install an un-needed softener. I've also read a little about tannins and that a normal filter system woñt help if that's the issue. Is there anyway to tell if its tannins or just something that a filter would help with? I haven't noticed any staining on my dishes but I haven't bought a washer yet so not sure if it would be affecting my laundry. any insight is appreciated. Newbie and woman here

Need to get the water tested to know what it needs.
If there old steel pipes it will always have a brown tint until all the pipes are changed.
