Sound or rushing water in well head pipe

Hello,

This morning I noticed I have a rather loud sound of rushing, or running water coming from the well pipe that runs through the ground.

I removed the cover and no water came spraying out.

I don't know what kind of pump it is, about the only thing I know....

Last fall we had to have the well guy over for repairs. He used a long pipe down in the well pipe to loosen and remove the pump.

About 8 feet down is where the line runs to the house. The black water line in the well is about 50 feet long. I don't recall how that area were connected, or removed...??

Any ideas as to what is broken? And how to fix and remove everything?

I don't think the pump is running more than the norm... unless I just can't hear the pump run over the sound of rushing water...

Any help and ideas please?

Thank you
Steven

Welcome to the forums.

You need to determine if the running water sound you hear is caused by the pump. Turn the power to the pump off and see what happens with the noise. If the noise stops.... you have a plumbing issue.

It sounds like you may have a broken line in the well casing.

In the illustration below is a pitless adapter. Using a T type pipe handle, the pipe to the pump is lifted off the hook on the side of the well and picked straight up out of the well. This connection is done like this so the pipe going to the house is well below the frost level.
