Pressure Gauge Distance From Pressure Tank In Well System

I'm replacing the tank in my well system, and at the same time decide to replace the pressure gauge and switch.
Normally these would be placed as close as possible to the tank, say within a foot or two; but, since the area where the tank resides is small (5' tall, 4' wide) and difficult to access, the only place I'll be able to put these things in order to read them is about 6' away from the tank and well.
If anyone has any experience of this, tell me if this will cause a problem. The current gauge and switch are already about that far away, but I've never been really certain they were accurate.

As long as they are in the water line they will work ok..... whether it's a foot or six feet away.

If they are T'ed into the main water line with a very small connecting pipe.... that pipe may have become clogged with rust.
