18 lb. max pressure

I have a shallow well. Replaced 1hp motor with used 1 1/hp motor and pump housing. Had no problems before till freeze broke it. now it will not build up to cut-off pressure. No higher than 18 lbs. Over night is still at 18 lbs, Have 28 Lbs air in bladder. Took motor off to look inside pump housing, which had alot of rust build up but impeller and all looked ok. What should I do now?

Welcome to the forums.

Had no problems before till freeze broke it.
Is that the old pump or replacement pump ?

If the old pump worked fine and the used replacement pump won't.... then it sounds like that second pump has an issue.

Are you getting water out of the taps when at 18 psi?
