No water/no pressure in well system
We have a well with heating element in it about 30ft away from the well x trol in the house.
There's no pressure and no water in the taps.
The pressure switch won't build up any pressure either.
How do I determine if the pipes outside froze or if it's something wrong with the well x trol.

Did you check the heating element to see if it's working? Is there a way to add a second element temporarily? Seeing as you are in Canada, frozen pipes would be the most likely answer.

Plug for the heating element was corroded and there is a receptacle on the outside of the well that might also be. One receptacle clogged with soil, the other doesn't read 120v.
I ran sandpaper on the heat cable plug to remove the blue corrosion and connected it too an extension, it is working now as the light came on on the plug (gfci) again.
It's 225W. How long might it take to defrost the well?

At the moment the plug has the gfci built into it.
Should it now be replaced with a normal plug and a gfci external receptacle instead?

I could not see any normal copper colour on the plug, 100% blue.
Took a few minutes with sandpaper to clean

If you feel your pipes are frozen you may want to turn your pump off for a while. If the pipes are frozen..... you run the risk of burning up the motor.

"Took a few minutes with sandpaper to clean"
It won't stay clean for very long. You need to replace the plug and the receptacle since one spreads corrosion to the other.
