Well pump won't build or keep pressure

Hi, our 1 hp deep well pump will build up to 10 psi sometimes and will lose the pressure. We've tried everything, almost everything is brand new, we primed everything correctly, the well is about 45 feet deep. The venturi thing isn't clogged, the check valve works properly, we're at a complete loss for words.

Welcome to the forums! Is this a submersible or surface pump? BTW 45' isn't a "deep" well, so you should have sufficient pressure.

I'm all new to this so I'm not sure if it's submersible or a surface pump. The pump itself is in my basement but everything else is down in the well.

Well, if the pump isn't in the well casing itself, it is not submersible. When you primed it, did you have water staying at the fill hole and not leak back down? Was the pump run dry for any long period of time? If all the "in well" components are good, then the only thing it can be is a failed pump.

After some research it's a surface pump.

Well the pump itself is only 4 days old and we have primed it every time we've ran it so far. No water leaked back down as far as I know. We would prime it, start it and once every 10 times it would reach 10 PSI and drop as soon as we would open a small faucet. We also tried our backup pump as we have 3 and it did no different from the new one.

How many pipes go from the pump to the well? You mentioned a venturi so I assume you have two going to the well.

How do you know the venturi is clean?

We've taken it out and checked about 5 different times.
