driving over buried septic pipe
I have to back my 4500 lb pick up over a buried septic line 18 inches down in the ground.
I am only backing the rear part of the truck over the line and parking it with the rear wheels NOT on the pipe. They will come to rest a couple feet past the buried pipe. The front part of the truck wont go over the line at all.So there will be a 2500( half the truck weight) pound weight passing over the buried line for a couple seconds.
What do you think of this in terms of damage or not..

There is a difference between a sewer drain pipe and a septic line. Which are you driving over?
You can drive over a buried pipe. As Tolyn Ironhand pointed out you will have little risk of crushing the pipe if it was installed properly. Worst case if you crush the pipe you dig it up and replace that section.
Never drive over a septic leach field. Once when you're moving into the house is one thing. Doing it repeatedly like a parking space is a big no no. The repeated heavy load can compact the soil and leach field which can damage the field. If you damage the leach field, especially in California, you probably have to involve the local Health or Environmental Services Dept. and get a permit to perform any repair legally.
