Is Septic Tank Sufficiently Insulated ??

Massive Renovation Project going on Next Door.. They've Backfilled approximately 2' in depth of Topsoil against the Basement Foundation including the area over an existing Septic Tank.. Prior to Backfilling they Placed 2 thick plastic drums , 1 over each of the 2 cement septic tank lids.. The Drums stick up about 18" above ground... Obviously for access to the Septic Tank when it comes time to Drain.. My Query is because there is Direct access to the lids and come Cold Canadian Winters in Eastern Ontario is the Septic Tank adequately Insulated ??

With the risers, nothing to worry about?

Tanks generate heat, area around my tanks are always are the first to melt the snow.

Never once heard of a septic tank or riser needing any insulation.

@joecaptian... More & More today especially with Septic & Well Applications you see Surface Caps pin pointing the Exact location of the Septic Tank.. In the Past the Tank was totally buried under a minimum of a Foot of Topsoil & Sod.. Our Septic Tank is just outside the Front of the House, we built a Deck just above it (deck floor sits only 8 inches above ground on cement blocks)..One section is like a Trap Door directly over the area of the Lids.. There' still a foot of topsoil above the Tank.. Was curious is all as the Risers are the size of a 45 gallon drum with No Lids ..lol.. And with our Cold Canadian Winters leaving the main Tank Lids exposed (???).
