Question Changed sump pumps and question regarding pipe connection

Hi there,

So our old sump pump stopped working and we purchased a new one. The piping is 2 inch but the old pump had a 1 1/4 outlet so the existing piping has a 1 1/4 check valve. Now the new pump has a 1 1/2 outlet and so the check valve is too small to screw in.

So, i know we can just redo the piping and get a 1 1/2 check valve but is there another way experts would do it or can i Macgyver it?

I did find adapter for both ends but could only find ones where i still would need some kind of 1/ 1/4 to 1 1/2 coupling or something. (see pics)

Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
Your new pump has an 1-1/2" outlet or discharge port.
A 1-1/2" check valve would allow for maximum water flow.

You could use a 1-1/2" pvc male thread to 1-1/4" female thread adapter at the pump.

Thanks, Outlet is what i meant. Thats exactly what i thought i would be able to find but I checked the hardware stores here and didn't see something like that but i'll check again. I'm in Canada so i checked Home Depot and Lowes. Thanks

I can't find them using the depot online search but I'm pretty sure I've seen them at my little store. A larger store should have them.
