I recently replaced my sump pump that has been in use since I bought my house four years ago. It was an extremely loud unit that was located below my bedroom. Even with a noise dampening box it would rattle through out the house. I decided to go with another pedestal pump ( baracuda 1/2 hp) since the box was there and i was pretty certain a new one wouldnt be so noisy. I installed a " quiet check valve " just above the box which is about two feet above the floor and to my surprise the new system was beautifully quiet! All I could hear was a faint sound of the water leaving the discharge. However, I soon realized the water between the check valve and pump was not draining back into the pit after cycling. I noticed this because the valve is clear. I decided to drill a weep hole above the pump but below the pit cover and now the water is draining back down but this makes the whole system louder. I contacted the pump manufacturer and they said no weep hole is necessary on this pump, and they thought my valve must be leaking, but it absolutely is not. I can understand how the water won't flow back down after cycling but is it alright to run my system without a weep hole and have that water sitting there? At the end of the day a noisey pump that works correctly is far more valuable than a pump that doesn't, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything here. Thanks

Morning so I had to replace my well pump yesterday along with adding a ground wire due to the fact the a 30 y/o pump that was in place did not have one and now the new one keeps tripping my breaker I am at a standstill with no matter any thoughts.
