2" Jet Pump - Worth putting a pump on casing?

I've purchased a piece of property with a 2" jet pump casing. I'm hoping to put a shop on the property and would like to have a bathroom and water for occasional irrigation. Is it worth putting a pump on the casing? I'm getting mixed opinions if it is worth even trying to hook a pump up to it.

Firstly you would need to know how far down the water is.
A one pipe jet pump can only lift from a maximum of around 25'.

How can you tell the depth of the water when there's a packer? I can fill the casing with water and it will hold for a little while so I think the packer is good. The property had a house on it for many decades but it was finally removed due to its poor condition (to my knowledge not a problem with the water).

I haven't had a well in over 25 yrs so things may have changed but I had a 2" well in fla that was a little over 100' deep, pumping at 80' that utilized a jet pump with a single drop pipe. It worked well for the dozen yrs I lived there.

That was too long ago and my memory isn't what it once was. It was a name brand pump, had to repair it once and I think maybe it had a 1hp motor.
