Well water tank preset pressure
I just had my submersible well water pump changed out because it was almost 31 yrs. old.
I have a Teel 32 gal. pressure tank that is manufactured for 30 - 50 pressure and factory pre charged @ 28 psi. We adjusted the old pressure switch to 40 - 60 psi but the pump installers didn't raise the pre charge pressure to 38 psi which would be the norm! Would the bladder be compromised by setting the air pressure to 38 psi or should I leave it at the factory setting of 28 psi?
ThanX!

Bringing the air pressure up in your pressure tank to 38 psi will not harm it. Set the air pressure in the tank to be 2-3 psi lower than the pump's cut in (turn on pressure). Don't rely on the manufacturers specs for what they say the tank is charged to or when the pressure switch cuts in. Check your pressures with an accurate gauge and add air to the tank accordingly.

Thanks! Why I was concerned is, the tank is specifically labeled as a 32 gal. 30 - 50 psi. tank and factory pre charged to 28 psi. It does however, list the gallon draw down for
20-40, 30-50 and 40-60. I guess the installer just forgot to change the pre charge after adjusting the pressure switch! The tanks pretty old, so it may go soon anyway!
