Well Jet Pump Replacement Help
Hey guy, I am considering replacing my existing well jet pump due to age. If I replace the pump is it neccessary to service the parts down in the well? How about if I replace it with a direct replacement? I have been looking into it and cannot find an answer.
Thanks in advance!

Why are you replacing the pump, other than age? Are you having any problems? Otherwise a well pump doesn't have a set life limit. I have some quite old ones in rental houses that are still going strong and are probably better quality pumps than many available today.
If you have a shallow well setup then there is only a foot valve down the well, if you have a deep well setup then there is also a venturi down the hole. Both of which could be serviced but I normally don't pull a well unless there is a problem.

Thanks for the reply. My pump does not build pressure past ~25psi. I had to adjust my cut off pressure as low as possible otherwise the pump would run non-stop because it cant build enough pressure. I believe I had a dry well situation that caused the pump to suck air and now I have no water at my house and I've waited 2 days. I'm willing to give switching the pump a try because it's a hell of a lot cheaper than having a new well drilled, or even having a well guy come out. So can I replace just my pump without replacing or servicing the jet or any other components?
