Mechanical sewer being off for a while
Due to Hurricane Laura my mechanical sewer system is not turned on right now because we don't have any power. It may be several more weeks before they restore power to the area. So my question is that the system isn't running so the good bacteria that's in there will probably die correct? If I don't turn it on for several weeks what I need to have someone service it? My insurance adjuster did not take that into consideration so I'm trying to get information before he returns with the estimate of damage.

Right now I'm not using it. I believe it's the aerator that's all I really don't know much about the system. But without power I'm not doing anything. I do have a generator so I can turn stuff on for a few hours.

No matter what type system you have it will adjust to conditions pretty quickly. New septic tanks don't need any bacteria additions to work properly and are up and working even before the tank is full. An aerobic system with a dead air pump will loose some of the aerobic bacteria but when you turn the air back on the little buggers will rapidly multiply. Basically you don't need to worry about the bacteria.
