[color=#141414]Hi all [/color] [color=#141414]we’ve just moved to a home that’s on a drilled well and the setup is a bit unique[/color] [color=#141414]There’s 2 presser tanks 1st is in the house (no concern here) [/color] [color=#141414]The 2nd is in a non heated but insulated garage and I’m worried that it or the well pipe feeding it will freeze in the winter [/color] [color=#141414]It only supply’s a hot want tank (already shut down and drained ) a sink and a garden hose [/color] [color=#141414]That I won’t need fire the winter months [/color] [color=#141414]I’m wondering if there’s a way for me to shut that line down for the winter and drain the pressure tank so I don’t need to worry about it freezing and splitting the tank or inlet pipe that comes in through the concrete and runs along the floor about 8’ to the pressure tank with no shut off valve (the first shut off is on the tanks output side)[/color] [color=#141414]I was thinking about justsetting the tank pressure to 0 (haven’t looked in to if that’s even possible yet ) but that won’t drain the well line.[/color] [color=#141414]Was thinking about a heating cord for the well line but what about the pipe under the concrete to the well that would still be over the frost line ??[/color] [color=#141414]thanks in advance for any help/suggestions[/color]

It's something I should have done years ago. Ever since the well system was changed from a jet pump to a submerged pump 10 years ago I've been getting some sand/dirt coming in. It's all new, installed 2 days ago so I don't know how often I'll need to attend to the filter. What I wonder is what do others do when they need attention... do you clean them or replace them each time? The system installed has a bypass, so I could run the filter under a hose outside or basement sink inside to clean it off.
