How long before pvc joint can be used after being glued

Hello all,

I need to repipe my sump pump pvc connection pipes and I plan to use "8 oz. Purple CPVC and PVC Primer and Regular Clear PVC Cement Combo Pack".

How long do I have to wait until I can put the pipes back into services?
Some joints will be submerged into water with the sump pump while others will have thread connection to check-valve.

Thank you

Almost immediately. Wait about an hour to be sure it sets.

If the glue is new and fresh...... it will set to use almost immediately.
If it's old..... it will work but stay gummy and take hours to fully dry.

If it's a non pressure type fitting like a drain pipe, your good to go after it dries, maybe a minute. Pressure joints, I give it 30 min.

I try to wait a few hours though for drain lines where there is no pressure I have never had a problem when allowing water to flow right after gluing the joint. I have had some luck prying fittings apart after 10 minutes which confirms that the glue does need time to dry so if using PVC for a pneumatic system that might be at 120 psi I would wait overnight.
