Hi
I have a Grundfos SP 230S50-1 pump which was running on a 5HP motor. The motor is all burnt but the pump end is still good. I want to use a 3HP or 2HP motor instead. Can anyone help how I can trim the impeller to run on a 2HP or 3HP motor?
Appreciate your help.

Looking at the specs that is a low head, single stage pump. I do not know of anything you can do to make it work with a smaller motor. The pump and motor sections are matched so changing one usually requires changing the other.

Thanks, Dane.
The pump and motor follow 4'' NEMA standards coupling which means the pump can fit on any motor that follows NEMA standards.
It'd be easy on a casted impeller as they can be trimmed on a lathe machine and many videos are available for that on youtube. But I cannot find anything on the internet for a Fabricated impeller as they have in this pump.
I can calculate how much it should be trimmed to run on a 3HP motor, just don't know how to trim it.
