Question Plastic Sump Pit floats.

Hi,

I have just installed a heavy plastic Sump Pit with an auto submersible pump and it works fine after our first rain, but I see the pit itself is floating.

I stand on the the pit grate and the water comes in and it settles again but, not long after it rises again.

How do I stop this? Would drilling holes in it help?

Thanks

How does water normally get into the pit to be pumped out? Pipes?

Hi
Thanks for the reply.
It just comes in off the slight sloping ground and runs into it.

So this pit is outdoors. and your plastic "pit" floats, Since you are trying to get rid of the water in the area of the "Pit" you are going to have to drill holes in it to do that.

AND you are going to need to keep the dirt from coming in with the water.
