Hoping someone can help clarify the following for me...
Grundfos CU301 controller (set to maintain 70 psi)
JetRite2 4.5gl diaphragm tank
Inline pressure gauge (cycles between 60 psi - 80 psi on demand; holds at 70 psi no demand)
I've always thought the bladder tank pressure should be set to -2 psi below the low pump turn (this would be 58 psi). In reading the CU301 user manual my understanding is that the diaphragm tank needs to be set at 70% of constant pressure. I'm I interpreting this correctly to be 70 psi x 0.70 = ~50 psi? Trying to figure out whether the tank pressure should be set to 50 or 58 psi (system pressure ranges 60-80 and holds at 70). Snipit of the user manual below. Thanks in advance!
Follow the manufacturer's instructions. The 2psi less recommendation is often used on home water systems with a much larger pressure tank. Your setup may have different requirements with such a small tank.
Conventional septic system with leach field in front yard, system is ~28 years old; I confess I have not had it pumped in quite some time. Side note: The city keeps making noises about extending water & sewer into the neighborhood, but no action on that yet. First saw this last summer, had a small area of dead grass. I seeded it and got the grass to fill in, went dormant in Fall. This spring, didn't come back so I seeded it again. Germinated and came in for a while and then browned off and died. The area has gotten larger and the far corner is exactly perpendicular straight lines of nice green grass on one side and brown on the other. This would be the corner of the field furthest from the tank. There are a few weeds growing in the patch.
Because the corner demarcation lines are exactly where the edge/corner of the field are, I have to assume this is septic-related. I did some Googling and got a lot of info, but not enough to tell me what's going on and what to do about it.
So, what have I likely got going here and what are my options?
Thanks. tg
I have what I thought was a maintenance switch between a 220 breaker and the pressure switch inside my well house. The breaker box is also inside this well house. I finally noticed it says reset on the thing and that started my pump back up so I assume it is a breaker of some kind.
Why do I need it between the 220 breaker and the pressure switch? BTW it runs with the switch in OFF and stops in ON. Thanks for any help here.
