Smartpower pump system alarm going off

We lost power last night and now my smart power 24v emergency pumping system is making a loud alarm sound. It has three lights, one for AC, one for battery, and one for low battery. The AC and Battery light are on but the low battery light is not lit. What should I do here? Is this an issue with the unit? It's one continuous tone.

If you can't reset it... it may be a bad battery even though it doesn't show as low.
How old is the battery ?
Three years would be normal.... 5 years would be close to max.

That might be the issue. The battery is at least ten years old. I unplug the system and plug the batteries into the charger and they look like they have a full charge. I plug them back in and the alarm seems to be more of a static buzz.

Oh yeah.... that battery is probably cooked.
There has to be at least a little bit of power in it for the low battery light to operate.

I can try that. Is there a better battery than interstate deep cycle for these things? That's what is there now and I have no complaints

Interstate is a good brand but even they die from old age. You shouldn't change the battery type (to a SLA, jell cell or lithium...) because of the charging system so you really should stick with a traditional lead battery like you have now.

Yeah that is the plan. I'm likely going to get the new batteries today.

Yep. Changed batteries and all is well. Thanks PJ for the advise. They checked them and they're 11 years old. Gotta say that's pretty good for batteries.
