crafting with silicone

I was wondering if you can make those small lightbulbs that look like a candle with silicone caulking. They can be expensive in the stores. Any help would be great.

Hi momofawholelot Welcome to the DoItYourself.com forums.

Are you talking about those silicone candle bulbs? Yes, you can use silicone caulking. Here's some info I found for you:

Once you get the basic technique down start playing around with it:

Some silicones are more clear than others.

You can squirt some silicone out on a piece of cardboard and mix in things to color it (automotive parts stores have silicone in different colors; red, black, blue).

Put in some coloring and only stirr it a little...

Try puting glitter in it...
