Silver ring and a special pattern

Hello there!

I am new to the forums and to the idea of DIY.

I want to make a ring with a special pattern. I had a jewel maker make me a silver ring with that pattern and the result was far from what i desired. It lacked a lot of detail and i wasn't satisfied.

So i decided that i should give it a shot and do it myself. I thought that the easiest way to do it is by shaping the pattern on an easy to sculpt material and then mold it. If I do this then I am going to have a silversmith do the rest. Is it doable? What do you think? Or are there any other ways to do it?

Please forgive me if this subcategory isn't the appropriate for a post like that.

Thanks in advance,

Tolis

I would start reading about lost wax casting. The lost wax method is used in a lot of jewelry making and is probably the best way to create the detail you want.
