Wind chime

Wind chime

I have made a metal wind chime from 3/4" electrical conduit pipe.Will painting cause any problems with chiming if not will any kind of spray paint be ok.Thanks for your help

If you have an extra piece of conduit, paint it & see what it does.

I would think that painting it will deaden the sound or pitch.

Wind chime

Ok I have cut 5 pcs. Of conduit for which I am making my 1st. Wind chime.When hanging the tubes do I start with longest tube and end with shortest or do I hang another way.Thanks for your help

It they are going to be hung in a circle I don't think it makes a difference. If hung in-line then largest to smallest.

While it may tone it down some I don't think it will eliminate the sound. I do agree that the pitch will be different.
