4 Tips for Cleaning a Fiberglass Shower Enclosure

Cleaning a fiberglass shower enclosure has been the subject of problems for many people over the years. This type of shower has a tendency to get very dirty through use, if not properly maintained. Clean with a little baking soda mixture and it will help get rid of any stubborn soap scum. Once you are done with the baking soda, try cleaning the shower with a little bit of vinegar. The vinegar will bubble and help you to get to the bottom of the grime. This will usually result in a sparkling clean shower enclosure.

3. Alcohol

Another home remedy for cleaning fiberglass is to use pure alcohol on it. This works especially well if you have stained areas in your shower. Just pour some alcohol directly onto the surface and the stain will usually be gone with just a little scrubbing. It’s an extremely efficient and effective cleaner.

4. Oven Cleaner and Magic Eraser

Another unorthodox way to clean the fiberglass enclosure is to use oven cleaner. Oven cleaner has some powerful ingredients in it that is designed to get to the bottom of some pretty nasty grime. The dirtiness on the inside of your oven is usually a lot harder to clean than a shower. Therefore, the cleaner usually works wonders on getting even the most stubborn scum and stains up.

Once you have let the oven cleaner soak into the soap scum and grime for a while, take a Magic Eraser to the area and remove anything that remains. This combination will typically result in an unbelievably clean fiberglass enclosure that looks like it did when it was new.
