For those with an infrared sauna, there is nothing more relaxing than an hour-long relaxation session to detox your body and achieve a long-lasting feeling of cleanliness and purity. These infrared saunas are incredibly easy to keep clean and if treated well, could easily last you your entire life. This guide touches upon some of the lesser-known facts about infrared sauna preservation and how to make sure that your sauna keeps on removing your stress and cleaning it doesn't add to it.

1. Installation

Making sure that your infrared sauna is installed properly is a key way to make sure you gain maximum lifetime and service out of your product. The electrical elements can become very temperamental if located in a damp environment so it is imperative that they are properly sealed and separate from the sauna effect when in use.

2. Tube Preservation

Never get the infrared tube that runs from the sauna wet. This will only lessen the effectiveness of the sauna and before long you will be confused when the sauna produces no more heat than when it is off.

    3. Sauna Cleanliness

When cleaning the inside of the sauna due to general wear and tear, make sure that you stay true to the detoxifying effect of the sauna and use products that are completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly. Mix organic cider vinegar with water in a one to three ratio and gently sponge down the entirety of the interior. If unsure, use the manufacturer's guidebook to find a contact number and inquire directly about what type of non-toxic cleaner is best to use. Some infrared sauna companies produce their own effective cleaning products.

      4. Don't Overdo It

It is not advised to use an infrared sauna for more than two hours at any one time. As well as exposing the user to excess levels of heat and humidity for longer than the recommended maximum time, it will also put too much strain on the infrared tubing and may result in the product losing efficiency far before you are satisfied with the length of its lifespan.

      5. Fancy Flooring

Clean the floor of your sauna as you would any other floor in your house with a broom or vacuum. Remember to keep the floor clean as this is where the majority of any bacteria will reside.

      6. Humans Only

Make sure that you do not start to use your infrared sauna as a sort of clothes dryer. This will not only put a strain on the sauna as it stays on for extended periods of time throughout the week but will also affect some cloth types in a negative way. It is best not to try and find out, but make sure that only humans enter the sauna. Leave any towels or clothes outside of the sauna, ideally next to the cold shower that you should take once leaving the sauna.

      7. Don't Hurt The Planet

Finally, never leave the infrared sauna on for longer than it needs to be. If taking it in turns, shut down power until the second user is ready. Remember to only turn on the power for as long as it is needed.
