About Concrete Scoring
While basic concrete flooring can be boring, adding some concrete scoring to your floor can create a beautiful and unique look.
What is Concrete Scoring?
Concrete scoring allows you to etch a design into your concrete floor. Once etched, you can stain the design to either match or contrast with the color of your concrete floor, highlighting the design and giving your floor some style.
Why Score Your Floor?
If you want your cement floor to have the appearance of concrete tiling or cobblestone, then scoring is the only way it will be achieved. If you want to add a design or unique appearance to your floor, concrete scoring is the way to go. It’s also a great way to spruce up your driveway or the concrete path leading to your front door.
Tools for Concrete Scoring
There are a few different tools that you can use for concrete scoring. The most commonly used tools are 4” circular saws or 4” hand held grinders. You may also want to use a diamond tip concrete blade. The type and size of the tool that you use depends on the size of the design. For most decorative scoring you will only need to cut ¼ inch into the concrete.
