Can curves be constructed in a mortarless stone retaining wall? Can curves be constructed in a mortarless stone retaining wall?
When putting up a stone retaining wall, it is possible to have curves installed in it. However, since it is mortarless, you need special kinds of stones in order to properly hold them together. The stones should be specifically produced, so you can stack them together. Each stone block goes into the other through a lip on a portion of the block. This will support the lateral pressure the ground will be placing on the wall, and will prevent the wall from collapsing. A stone retaining wall with curves needs special curved stones for its curved portions, in order to ensure smooth transitions in the design, and so as not to compromise structural integrity.
