Can Engineered Hardwood Floors Be Refinished? Can Engineered Hardwood Floors Be Refinished?

Engineered hardwood floors are very durable due to their construction. There is the top layer of premium hardwood, along with another wood surface, usually plywood, or pine wood, under its surface. The top layer, or the layer exposed, is no more than 3/16 of an inch thick, and many types have even less. It depends on the thickness of your flooring to determine the possibility of doing it yourself. There is the danger of sanding through to the second layer of wood which will ruin your floor. It may be a better choice to hire a professional for this project to assure a good result.
