A stainless steel flange is circular and has holes that allow it be bolted to the base of the sink so that it connects the sink and the drainpipes. However, over time and with regular use, flanges can become clogged with oil and grease. Stainless steel flanges, luckily, are relatively low-maintenance, and you can easily keep them free of grease and oily buildup. For regular cleanings, simply scrub gently with mild, dishwashing liquid and a sponge. If there is a lot of greasy residue, pour hot water into the sink, and then gently clean with a mild soap and a non-abrasive scrubber. Dry thoroughly.
