Can You have Underfloor Heating with a Parquet Floor?

Parquet floor is a time-honored look that is still applicable in today's world. Many people turn to parquet for its classic design and durability. However, one common question that is associated with parquet flooring is whether or not you can put a radiant heating system underneath it. Here are a few things to consider about having underfloor heating with a parquet floor.

Radiant Heating and Parquet

If installed properly, there is no reason that you should not be able to utilize a radiant heating system underneath a parquet floor. Parquet is made out of wood and radiant heating systems are routinely installed underneath wood floors without any issues.

Installing a radiant heating system under the sub floor is a big job and you should definitely check with the manufacturer of the parquet and the radiant heating system before you start. Check with the manufacturer of the parquet to make sure that they will still allow your floor to retain all applicable warranties after being installed over radiant heating. As long as that is not an issue, you should go ahead and proceed with the installation process of the radiant heat and the parquet flooring itself. Once you are done, you will have a very durable floor that is warm underfoot at all times.
