Clean and Maintain Wood Paneled Walls Clean and Maintain Wood Paneled Walls

What You'll Need
Mild detergent or oil soap
Bucket of water
Sponge
Clean pieces of cloth
Duster

Wood paneled walls have the appearance of real wood and have a special protective finish, which make the panels shiny. When you clean the wood paneled walls you are actually removing dirt and dust from the protective finish. This coating is easy to clean and maintain and you will need only a few cleaning supplies.

Step 1 – Remove Dust

Use a duster to remove the dust from the surface of wood paneled walls before you start washing them. Make sure you remove dust from all hard to reach places.

Step 2 – Prepare the Detergent

Use some mild detergent in a bucket of warm water. Use 1 part detergent and 10 parts water. If the panels have a lot of accumulated dirt, opt for oil soap.

Step 3 – Wash the Panels

Start washing the panels from the top and work your way downwards. Cover all hard to reach places.

Step 4 – Rinse

Rinse with a piece of dry cloth. Ideally, you should rinse as soon as you have finished washing the panels, to protect the wood. Wipe the wood paneled walls until they have a shine. To maintain the wood paneled walls, clean them at least once every 2 months.
