Cleaning a Garden Hose Nozzle

If your garden hose nozzle has started to look a little dirty as of late, you may want to consider cleaning it. Fortunately, this is a very simple procedure that can be successfully completed with a few common household items.

Step 1 - Prep Your Hose Nozzle

Begin the cleaning process by detaching your garden hose nozzle and giving it a thorough water rinsing beneath your now nozzle-less hose or a standard faucet. This step will help remove any loose pieces of filth, ultimately making the cleaning process even easier.

Step 2 - Produce Your Cleaning Solution

Now that you've carried out the preliminary water rinsing, you'll need to combine warm water and mild liquid soap in a small bucket. Once your cleaning solution has taken shape, place your dirty garden hose nozzle in the solution and allow it to soak for about 20 minutes before proceeding with the next step.

Step 3 - Scrub Your Nozzle

You will now need to use a mini scrub brush or expendable toothbrush to give the garden hose nozzle a vigorous scrubbing. Once all dirt and debris have been successfully purged, give the nozzle one last water rinsing and dry it with a washcloth or paper towel before proceeding to reattach it.

If you have hard-water calcium buildup, you may need to use a decalcifier.
