A stainless steel range hood is very durable. It is also very beautiful as long as it is kept clean. This can be a challenge, but if you have the right method of keeping up with it, your stainless steel range hood will stay looking new.

Step 1 - Remove Stuck on Grease

Using your sponge with the soft scouring pad on the opposite side, first pour straight vinegar into the sponge and wipe it on the greasy areas. Next, pour table salt onto the scouring pad side and rub in a circular motion until the greasy residue is all gone. You may have to repeat this in some areas if it is really thick, most likely the inside of the hood. Next you will be ready to do a thorough cleaning of the rest of the range hood.

Step 2 - Clean the Entire Surface

In a spray bottle, mix 1/3 cup of vinegar with 4 or 5 drops of dish liquid and finish by adding water to fill the rest of the bottle. Spray down the range hood and wipe with paper towels. You can use this method daily to keep the grease from caking on, and to keep your range hood looking sparkling and new.
