If your ceiling kitchen exhaust fan is in need of a thorough cleaning, you may be wondering how to go about administering it. If so, read on to learn the basics of ceiling kitchen exhaust fan cleaning.
Step 1 - Prep Your Fan
Before you can begin cleaning your exhaust fan, you'll need to open your circuit breaker and shut off all the power to your kitchen. As this process will involve electronics and water, you'll need to exercise as much caution as possible. Next, use a screwdriver to remove the fan's protective vent cover.
Step 2 - Remove the Fan's Blade Assembly
Once you've removed the vent cover, use your screwdriver to carefully detach the screws that hold your ceiling kitchen exhaust fan's blade assembly in place. Once the blades have been removed, gently place them atop an expendable towel or blanket.
Step 3 - Clean Your Fan's Blade Assembly
Having removed the blades, proceed to clean them with a dampened washcloth. If the blades are particularly filthy, you may want to incorporate the aid of a mild soap. Next, proceed to clean the vent cover in the same fashion. Once the blade assembly and vent cover have been thoroughly cleaned, dry them with a clean cloth. Make sure the blade assembly and vent cover have been fully dried before proceeding to reattach them.
