Due to their difficult-to-reach slats, louvered doors have a propensity for collecting unnoticed dirt and debris. While administering a proper cleaning to these doors may seem cumbersome, it can easily be accomplished with the aid of a few household tools.
Step 1 - Prepare Your Cleaning Supplies
Before proceeding to clean your louvered doors, you'll need to make sure you have the right tools for the job. First, acquire a meter stick or a long, sturdy ruler and place an expendable sock over one of its ends. Alternatively, you can wrap a thin washcloth around one of the ruler's ends, taking care to secure it in place with a rubber band. This makeshift cleaning tool will prove invaluable in dusting the above mentioned slats. Next, fill an empty spray bottle with diluted oil soap, which will be used to clean the doors.
Step 2 - Clean Your Louvered Doors
Having prepped your supplies, you're ready to give your doors a thorough cleaning. Begin this process by using your homemade duster to vigorously expel any dust from between the doors' slats. Next, spray your doors with oil soap, then use a washcloth to wipe them clean. Take care to pay special attention to any noticeably filthy areas.
Step 3 - Long Term Care
